Buses, Trains, Public Transportation Video Surveillance Systems

While public transit is a convenient, inexpensive, environmentally friendly means of getting people around, it also often ends up being the setting for crimes such as vandalism, theft and harassment. Despite this, many public transit companies continue to use out of date surveillance technology that simply doesn’t serve them the way it should. Among other things, these cameras should be able to be viewed in real time by the drivers and passengers, as it’s a noted fact that people who know they are on camera are much less likely to act inappropriately. A great example of a leader in public transit security is the Nairobi-Maroba Railway, in Kenya. They use one of our top brands of security camera on their railway: Uniview.

In the East African Plateau, the longest railway of East Africa, Nairobi-Maroba Railway, is under construction. Uniview provides video surveillance for the entire staff campsite.
The staff campsite is in Kenya, which was built for construction and will exist for the 800 days of whole construction.
Uniview provided various types of cameras to suit their various surveillance needs and 2-series NVRs for protecting the campsite. More than 100 cameras are installed.

The corridor in the office building is equipped with a mini bullet camera which has a 30m IR distance at night, and the staff apartment is protected by a bullet camera. Storage units are equipped with a IK10 vandal-proof dome camera and a turret camera. Along the walls, there are 20x/30x PTZ dome cameras and bullet cameras that provide 24/7 video surveillance.

All of the cameras are connected to a Uniview NVR for remote controlling and real-time monitoring.
The whole campsite is equipped with more than 100 cameras all around. Uniview’s camera and NVR are featured with long range PoE function. To ensure the staff’s safety, the dome camera used in the staff campsite is vandal-proof.

Kenya is known for its tremendously long rainy season, from March till June, and a short rainy season from October to December. In order to prevent water damage to their cameras, Uniview’s cameras here have all been equipped with an IP66 water-proof function. Cameras installed in the field can also bear an electronic surge caused by lightning.
