By splitting the Gigabit PoE connection, the splitter allows a device to be separately connected to a power and a data source. Choose between four voltage options for the appropriate power output for the non-PoE device's power requirements. I wanted to add a microphone to a POE IP camera without running another power line to the mic, and this did the trick!
