        Overview

        The Portable IP and Analog Camera Installation Tool from Pelco allows you to easily connect, set up, and preview analog and IP cameras in the field. The 3.5" color LCD touch screen lets you preview the camera placement to get the surveillance coverage you want, and using the included stylus, setup and adjust the camera settings. A MicroSD slot supports cards up to 32GB and enables video recording or snapshots to be saved and viewed later on the tester or a computer. There is also a USB port for connecting external memory devices such as thumb drives, importing firmware updates, or storing/transferring saved video files. A BNC connector on top of the unit, lets you directly feed the video from an analog camera into the tester and adjust the camera's brightness, contrast, and sharpness.

        Equipped with LAN ports, including a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) compatible port, you can directly connect to a single IP camera, or use the port to test multiple cameras on the network. Once connected, you can make adjustments to the camera settings, including the user name, passwords, network settings, image quality, and recording resolution. If the IP camera has on-board memory, you can also access, playback, and record saved images to the tester's memory card.

        This unit can also be used to test the Cat5 wires used in IP camera installation. Using the included UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) terminal block and the Cat5 port on the tester, you can detect if the terminals at each end of the line are wired correctly. If they're not wired right, the tester will display what is wrong.
