Certain GV-IP Camera models require 2 intermediate F/Ws for successful F/W upgrade - 20190926

Issue:

The F/Ws of some GV-IP Cameras can’t be upgraded ( Failed ) to the newest version no matter via GV-Device Utility or its own web interface.

Root Cause:

The certain GV-IP Camera models require the 2 intermediate F/Ws for successful F/W upgrade.

Applied:

GV-BL120D / 130D / 220D / 320D

GV-BX 2400 Series / 3400 Series

GV-CA120 / 220

GV-CAW120 / 220

GV-FD120D / 220D / 320D

GV-FE420 / 421 / 520 / 521

GV-FER521

GV-MDR120 / 220 / 320 / 520

GV-MFD120 / 130 / 220 / 320 / 520

GV-VD120D / 121D / 122D / 123D / 220D / 221D / 222D / 223D / 320D / 321D / 322D /323D

Solution:

Please begin reading the 2 attachments with Symptom 4 in Important Notice for Upgrading GV-IPCAM H.264, then Failure_to_Upgrade_IPCam_to_V3.17_or_Later and follow the instructions.

Example:

When I’m about to upgrade FE520 v1.15 with the newest F/W via GV-IP Device Utility or web interface of FE520, firstly based on Symptom 4 in Important Notice for Upgrading GV-IPCAM H.264 I will have to upgrade the F/W to v2.02, then based on Failure_to_Upgrade_IPCam_to_V3.17_or_Later upgrade the F/W to v3.14. Eventually, upgrading the F/W to v3.17 or later.

In short, the 2 intermediate F/Ws are needed to be upgraded to FE520 v1.15 before upgrading it with the newest F/W.

Otherwise, the upgrading would fail as below,
