The Q7424-R Mk II Video Encoder from Axis Communication is a rugged one-to-four-channel standalone solution that enables flexible migration of analog cameras into an IP-based video surveillance system in challenging conditions. The encoder is designed specifically to withstand tough environments including vibrations, shocks, and extreme temperatures. It operates in temperatures from -40 to 167°F (-40 to 75°C). The video encoder offers H.264 and Motion JPEG streams at full frame rate in all resolutions up to D1 (720 x 480 NTSC or 720 x 576 PAL). H.264 greatly optimizes bandwidth and storage use without compromising image quality, while Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility. The encoder offers event management capabilities with intelligent video features such as tampering alarm, motion detection and audio detection, in addition to Axis camera application platform applications. It also features an SFP slot for fiber connection, which gives installers flexibility to connect the video encoders cost-effectively to the network over long distances. In addition, this encoder has support for Power over Ethernet, which simplifies installation since only one cable is required for power.
