This video provides a comparative look at the recording frame rates captured by CCTV cameras. We compare the most popular frames per second (FPS) recording settings used in video surveillance systems: 30FPS, 15FPS, 7.5FPS, 5FPS and 1 FPS. Watch to see how these settings differ.
Video TranscriptToday we are going to compare the various recording frame rates that could be used in Closed Circuit Television and network IP based video surveillance systems.
This is a 4 screen side-by-side comparison of a video that was recorded at 30, 15, 7 and 1 frames per second. Recording between 7.5 and 30 fps is the most common this is because very little quality is lost as you can see here.
Once you start going below 7.5 frames per second the choppiness is more noticeable to the human eye. Even tough the human eye doesn't see the difference between 30 and 15 frames per second.
When you do a play back is much easier to select the specific frame that you are looking for. For more information selecting security cameras and a DVR/NVR that supports the recording frame rate that meets your requirements please visit www.worldeyecam.com
