Video Surveillance Systems in New Hampshire

New Hampshire is a state in the northeast region of the United States. The current estimated population is 1,326,813. It was one of the original thirteen colonies, established by the British in 1629. The early economy was built largely on ship building, fishing and sawmills. The New Hampshire colony was highly disputed territory for much of the 17th and 18th centuries with territorial disputes arising with the Massachusetts Colony, the native Algonquin tribes and French settlers to the north. New Hampshire declared its independence from Great Britain during the American Revolution and became the 9th state admitted to the Union in 1788. The textile industry became an important economic sector in the state in the 19th century up until the Great Depression of the 1930s caused many of the mills to close. Today, New Hampshire’s economy is strong and the state has one of the highest median household incomes in the country. The state is noted for not having any sales tax or state income tax but a higher than average property tax. High technology, education and tourism are all important economic forces in the state. Some notable Universities in New Hampshire include Dartmouth, Antioch University and the University of New Hampshire. The state has some of the largest ski resorts on the East Coast, making New Hampshire a destination for winter sports. There are also many state and national parks, including Franconia Notch State Park, which attract many tourists year-round.

The overall crime rate in New Hampshire is much lower than the national average. The chance of becoming a victim of a violent crime in the state is 1 in 465 and the chance of becoming a victim of a property crime such as theft or burglary is 1 in 46. While both of these rates are below the national average, property crime is the biggest crime issue facing the state. In 2013 there were 23,164 reported cases of theft and 4,936 cases of burglary. These crime rates have been holding steady for the past several years. Residents can protect themselves from crimes like these by installing surveillance systems on their property. Surveillance systems are known to deter crime and they can help to lower crime rates overall. A variety of properties can benefit from surveillance systems including homes, offices, retail stores and factories.
