Backup on USB thumb drive

How to backup footage from your NVR or DVR system to a usb thumb drive.

This is the how to guide for backing up footage from your local iMaxCamPro NVR or DVR system on to a portable usb thumb drive.

Usb_plugin_screen

Step 1: Plugin your usb thumb drive to the back of your NVR or DVR system.

When you plugin the device you will have a screen come up that looks like this:

backup_usb_disk_start

2. Click on File Backup which will take you to the following screen:

3. From here you will see that the usb drive is already predefined for the back up. For type depending on your system configuration there are additional options which we discuss in another tutorial (specialized setup). For this example we will set to all.

Backup_StartTime_hour

4. Now we can define the date we want to backup for. Please keep in mind these are video files so it is very important to try and have a specific time frame for the backup. For our purposes we will use 2015 – 02 – 10 (February 10, 2015) 07:23:54 to 2015 – 02 – 10 (February 10, 2015) 07:33:25.

Camera_Channel_Selection

5. Now we can select the channel we want the footage from. For this example we will be using Channel 2. The next selection for file format can be left as the default DAV.

backup_Add_Camera_Date

6. Next we hit the add button. This will add that specific day, time frame and camera footage.

If you wanted additional footage for the same day and time frame but a different camera all you need to do is simply change the Record channel to the camera you wish to pull the footage from then again hit add. For this example we will only be backing up one camera of footage.

BackUp_Started
  1. The next step we simply click backup. Now at the bottom of the screen you will see the progression bar with a rough estimate of how long it will take to backup the request footage.

If you wanted additional footage for the same day and time frame but a different camera all you need to do is simply change the Record channel to the camera you wish to pull the footage from then again hit add. For this example we will only be backing up one camera of footage.
