After years of using traditional analog CCTV systems, I decided it was time to upgrade to HD. After all, I've upgraded my TV to HDTV, why shouldn't I do the same for my security system? So I began looking at the HD options and decided to check out these HD-SDI kits, and I couldn't be happier. The picture quality is amazing with a smooth image and stunning clarity. When displayed on my 40" HDTV it's almost like I'm looking out the window, which is something my old analog CCTV system could never match. Even better, the mobile app that connects to the system displays the image with the same HD clarity so when I'm away from home I can see everything that's going on and even pinch to zoom in without any loss of detail! The bullet cameras that come with this kit are just as impressive. They deliver great day and nighttime images, and have a ton of different configuration options so I can tweak their performance depending on where they're mounted. I have one mounted in a location that gets a lot of direct sunlight, so the OSD settings have some compensation to ensure that I'm getting the best image quality possible. The DVR itself is small, compact, and built really well. As run both PC and Macs and this DVR has CMS software that works great on both. Each one is a little different, but the applications are written specifically for PC and Mac so there was no issue installing or running either one.
